Full Color Yearbooks: Are They Worth the Extra?
July 25th, 2008
Full color yearbooks often intimidate yearbook assistants because of the fact that they usually cost more. The budget is always a concern and you may be wondering if it is really worth it to go with a full color yearbook this year.
The price is definitely an issue, since you will need to boost the price for the students, as well, or find a way to raise more money. For many schools, it is a scary thought to think of raising the yearbook prices, especially if the students may not be willing to pay the extra. This is something that will need to be taken into consideration.
That being said, the extra cost is usually not a lot when you look at the big picture. After all, if you are moving from 50% black and white to a full color yearbook, your value will double! Students prefer full color yearbooks and some of them may actually decide to purchase simply because you have moved to a full color format. This is something that is a definite consideration.
Is a full color yearbook worth the price? Most schools feel they are. Look at your options carefully, talk to your students and make the decision that best fits your school.
