Full Color Yearbooks: Should Color Be Used On Text Pages?
June 22nd, 2008
When you opt for full color yearbooks, the question arises . . . should you be using color on every single page, even the text ones?
Full color yearbooks offer a huge advantage in that you can add color without any extra cost to the text pages. This can be a great way to highlight specific bits of the text or just to make the entire page jump out a bit more. While you don´t want to overpower the text, there are plenty of ways to use color on any page with articles.
- Background. A light color or even a watermark image in the background adds interest to a page without taking away from the text.
- Highlighting. Pulling certain parts of the article to highlight in a colored box is an excellent use of full color yearbooks.
- Borders. There´s nothing wrong with a colored border to add a bit of excitement to a text page.
Full color yearbooks need to take advantage of the fact that you don´t have to stick with black and white. Enjoy the color and use it where you can. The result will be a full color yearbook that really pops.
