Uniting Two Page Yearbook Layouts

October 12th, 2008

The majority of yearbook layouts are two page spreads and when you are combining two pages, it`s important to keep a few things in mind. You want the two pages to fit together seamlessly, so here are a few tips.

Allow for bleed. The crease in the center of the book will absorb some of the pages, so make sure that you add a little extra to any photos that are going to go across the crease.

Avoid center photos. To avoid the above problem and keep things real simple, just move all your photos away from the crease and don`t have any of them in the center of the yearbook layout.

Skip the inside border. By running your borders around the outside only of the entire yearbook layout, you`ll pull the pages together.

These are just a handful of ways to make the yearbook layout work with two pages. Treat them as one big page and you shouldn`t have any problems.
